So I tried my hand at doing a caricature. it's a pretty mild caricature, but I like 1) the insanely happy look on my face, 2) my nose, in my opinion my best drawn one yet, and 3) how my hair looks like this squid thing attached to my head. I might try a more exagerated caricature next time.
Hi, great effort with the caricature. I can see you’ve a good eye for subtlety — the ledge joining the brow to the eye and the cheek underneath are all nicely done. Here’s something else you can try: sit down with lots of pics of faces and give yourself 30 seconds to draw each one. It’ll force you to find the dark and light areas and be more accurate. That way, you’ll learn that if you get the shape of people’s features right, you can make them any size and it’ll still look like the original face (only in caricature style).
